Weekly COVID-19 Update

We’ve had a couple more students and staff test positive over the past week. One question I’m getting consistently is ‘where can I find a COVID test, or ‘where can I get tested within the next few days’? Frankly, I wish I had a better answer for this, as the system is clearly overwhelmed. Placer County Public Health hosts a website that, with a couple clicks, basically gives access to every testing location within the county. The PCPH website with testing site information is HERE.
REMINDER: Updated CDPH guidance has reduced the isolation requirement for individuals that have tested positive for COVID-19 to five days IF symptoms have resolved and they test negative on day five. Our basic parent-student COVID protocols are here.
After School Basketball Club for 4th-8th Graders
We’re going to host a Basketball Club that’ll be on Fridays after school from 3:15p - 4:15p, most likely starting Friday, 1/21/21. The club is intended for kids interested in basketball that are not on one of the school teams. There is no cost for the club, but space is limited to 15 students. To sign up for the club, please click here. PLEASE NOTE: There was a typo on last week’s Flyer that caused some confusion - the bottom of the Flyer said the club was for ‘2nd-4th’ graders. I apologize for this error, but this session’s club will be for 4-8th grade students only. We will be doing a basketball club for younger students later this school year.
Yearbook Club for 5th-8th Graders
We are going to be hosting a Yearbook Club on Mondays after school. Students will be assisting in the design and development of this year’s school yearbook. The signup flyer is available on our website and is also included here.
Eighth Grade Dedications in the Yearbook
Parents/Guardians of 8th graders, the 8th Grade Yearbook Dedication is a very special way to honor your child and their graduation. The Yearbook Committee asks that you submit a personal message of 100 words or less and one jpeg photo. Messages should include a closing that clearly states who is sending the message. Please include "8th grade dedication-" followed by your child's full name in the subject line of your email. Please submit your message and photo to mmcayb@gmail.com. For inspiration check out submissions in last year's yearbook.
MMCA Children’s House Open Enrollment for the 2022-2023 school year starts NEXT WEEK!
We will begin taking registrations for our preschool next week. Preschool spots are for potty-trained children that will be 3.5 - 5 in mid-August. For our preschool, spots are filled on a first come, first serve basis.
Boonli Reminders
The menus for February have been posted to Boonli. Weekly deadlines are Mondays at 11:59pm, but we recommend ordering for the entire month.
We have a lot of breakfasts being ordered, but not picked up (and therefore we’re not able to claim them for reimbursement). Please have your child pick up their breakfast by 9:00am when you order for them.
Save the Date - Thursday, 2/10/21 - APEX Fun Run
Our PTA is partnering with APEX again for a fundraising Fun Run. More information about the event will be forthcoming over the next few weeks.
