Sierra Wilds Apartment Complex Update
At their May 2026 meeting, the Rocklin City Council voted to continue their hearing regarding the proposed Sierra Wilds Apartment Project to their Tuesday, August 11, 2026 meeting that will be at 6:00 p.m. On behalf of MMCA, I would like as many parents as possible from our greater school community to be at this City Council meeting. For new families, here’s some quick context: Due to dire fiscal circumstances, the neighboring church to our school St. Augustine is needing to sell all of the “non church” part of their property. They are proposing to sell it to an apartment developer that wants to put in a high-density, multi-story residential apartment complex that would pretty much be on top of 2 of the school’s property lines. The project is currently proposing using both our school driveway and parking, connecting multiple gates from the complex onto school property (all without school consent), and create several points of school site illegality and retrofitting (all currently proposed at MMCA’s expense). For some of our past communications regarding this Sierra Wilds Project, please see https://mailchi.mp/506f201aae80/mmca-potential-development-at-1800-wildcat-blvd and https://www.mmcharter.org/single-post/may-8-2026-parent-letter-regarding-sierra-winds . If anyone has any questions regarding the school’s perspective on Sierra Wilds, please feel free to reach out to me at brent@mmcharter.org. Additionally, the Urban Ethics Coalition, a group that is comprised of neighbors, Rocklin residents, and MMCA parents all concerned about the project, has a lot of good information at their website: https://www.urbanethicscoalition.org/
School Supplies - Early Bird Deadline is August 4th!
Student Supplies:
One of our traditions at MMCA is to bulk buy the core student school supplies on behalf of our families. We do this for a few reasons:
To save you the time, energy and hassle of going to several different stores to pick up all of the items on our published school supplies list.
To save you SIGNIFICANT $ by bulk-buying these supplies on your behalf.
Supplies are delivered right to your child’s classroom and will be waiting for them on the first day of school.
Buy early and save! Purchase supplies for only $60 now thru 8/4; $75 thru 8/14; and $85 after 8/14. School Supplies can be purchased on our website at this link: http://mmcharter.org/store
School Spirit Wear - 2nd Order Deadline August 17
Student Uniforms
Our school has a uniform policy. Uniform tops may be bought through the MMCA Store page or at locations such as Amazon, Old Navy, WalMart, Kohls, Target, etc.
Our student uniform ordering process is electronic and on the same MMCA Store page as the School Supplies. Click on the item(s) you’d like (t-shirt, moisture-wicking shirt, polo shirt or sweatshirt) and select sizes and then proceed to e-checkout. Our uniform provider requires bulk orders. Our next deadline will be 8/17, but realize they will not be ready for at least 3 weeks from this date.
