We have been diligently fighting this plan for the past couple of years and have been working with many local and state lawmakers to protect our school. There have been several City Council Meetings to address this project. At the City Council Meeting this week, the City Council voted 3-2 to approve this project. We’re deeply disappointed and frustrated with this decision. At the same time, we are incredibly grateful for the people who showed up and made their voices heard. Parents, neighbors and community members came together, asked important questions and spoke with heart and courage. That matters, regardless of how the vote turned out. While we may not be able to change the City’s decision, we can choose what comes next. We are going to give ourselves time to process as we work on the best path forward. We will continue to seek answers, raise concerns and advocate for the health and safety of the students of our school.I anticipate that our next steps will be finalized over the next few weeks. We will be as transparent with our school community as possible as we move forward. To every person who attended, spoke, reached out, encouraged us or stood beside us - we thank you. This setback is difficult, but it is not the end of our efforts - in reality, it is just the beginning.Sincerely,Mr. B
Our Aqua Room students put Montessori learning into action with an engaging ELA Skyscraper activity! Fifth-grade students stepped into the role of mentors, working alongside and supporting our fourth graders as they learned, collaborated and built together. We love seeing students learn from one another! Goal Setting ConferencesParent-Teacher Conferences, or “Goal-Setting Conferences” as we refer to them at MMCA, are an important part of supporting each student’s growth and success. These conferences provide a valuable opportunity for families and teachers to connect, celebrate progress and set meaningful goals together. Click the link below to schedule your child’s Goal-Setting Conference. We are so proud of how our students have embraced this trait in their daily routines. Let’s challenge ourselves as a school community to keep choosing kindness every single day, both at school and at home.
