Principal’s Update:

Dear MMCA Families,

The Rocklin City Council will be meeting again on Tuesday, September 22, at 6:00 PM to discuss the possible Sierra Wilds Development next to our school site. We encourage members of the MMCA community to attend the meeting and participate in the civic process. During the past three meetings about this project, we’ve had GREAT parent and staff participation at these meetings - THANK YOU FOR THIS! For next Tuesday’s meeting, I would like to maximize our attendance—presence matters! Additionally, if anyone wants to express their opinions to the Rocklin City Council about this topic, they may email them to PublicComments@rocklin.ca.us before 3:00 PM on Tuesday, September 22, and those comments will be given to City Council members prior to the meeting.

For MMCA families who are interested in attending, our PTA will be offering a no-cost Parents’ Night Out. Please see the flyer below.

The proposed Sierra Wilds project would occupy the currently vacant land between our school campus and Wildcat Blvd., including the area that contains our Community Garden, the storage container area, and part of our Children’s House playground. The developer, Pacific Group Companies, which is under contract to buy the land and develop it, is a multi-million dollar private company headquartered in Eagle, Idaho. They have significant experience and resources related to projects of this nature.

At MMCA, the health, safety and well-being of our students and staff remain our highest priorities. Based on our review of the proposal, we believe the project will have significant negative impacts on the school environment. We encourage families and community members to review the informational slideshow linked here, which includes both information and 3-D renderings for how the project would interface with our school site. Additionally, a group of parent volunteers has created a very informative Q&A document with additional information about the project.

Our Orange Room students spent an exciting day at Tahoe Treetops last week, where they enjoyed active outdoor adventures filled with learning, exploration and discovery. It was a wonderful opportunity to build confidence, try new challenges and learn together in the beautiful outdoors!

From a simple smile in the hallway to helping a classmate with a tough project, these moments build a safe, welcoming school culture. PTA Spotlight - PTA Fall FUNdraiser

Magical Coin Quest (formerly Penny Wars) starts next week!

Get ready for a little friendly competition with the MMCA PTA!

Our Magical Quarter Quest is coming September 21–25! Throughout the week, classes will collect coins, bills, and online donations to earn Magic Miles and race their Disney character to the castle—all while supporting the programs and activities our PTA provides for MMCA students.

Pennies, quarters, dollars, and online donations move your class forward!

Nickels and dimes can be used to slow down the competition.

🏆 The overall champion will proudly display the MMCA Champions of Change Trophy for the entire year—plus earn some serious bragging rights!
