Message from Mr. B

Hello MMCA Families!

  1. School breakfast/lunch program and signups

  2. Before/Aftercare program and signups

  3. School uniform and spiritwear ordering

  4. A link to our Parent Orientation Handbook for the 26-27 school year

  5. A couple PT employment opportunities (we’re looking for subs for our Bef/Aftercare and Lunch Supervision teams)

  6. First Day of School Logistics Drop-off / pick-up procedures: Please see the graphics at the end of this flyer regarding First Day of School Logistics and Drop-off / pick-up procedures.

Staffing Updates

With Cynthia Brown and Ray Baldonade retiring last year, we made a couple of staffing changes.  I am pleased to welcome Adrienne Garcia as our new Assistant Director and Jenefer Mikels as our new Office Manager!  With Adrienne transitioning to a full-time administrative role, I’m also pleased to welcome Samantha Chapman as our new Orange Room co-teacher!

Our class rosters will be posted on our front office windows on Monday after 4:00 p.m.  Please do not take pictures and post on any social media.

Each summer, I receive several questions with regards to my strategies for setting a class roster.  My overall goal in developing any class roster is to try to establish a balanced classroom looking at these primary factors: 1) behavior, 2) academic ability, 3) gender and 4) grade level.  While I will take parent requests into consideration, there will be circumstances where I will not be able to honor all requests, particularly when doing so would lead to an unbalanced classroom.

We’re excited to see everyone next week!

Sierra Wilds Apartment Complex Update

THANK YOU to all of the MMCA parents who joined us at Tuesday’s City Council meeting.  The City Council voted to continue the hearing.  The next hearing date is scheduled for their September 22, 2026 meeting date. We want to FILL THE ROOM at that meeting, as the Council is expected to vote at that meeting.  For more information:

  1. Here is a link to the Electronic binder of documents we provided the Rocklin City Council.

  2. Here is a link to the GoogleSlide Show we gave at the City Council meeting.

If anyone has any questions regarding the school’s perspective on Sierra Wilds, please feel free to reach out to me at brent@mmcharter.org.  Additionally, the Urban Ethics Coalition, a group that is composed of neighbors, Rocklin residents, and MMCA parents all concerned about the project, has a lot of good information at their website: https://www.urbanethicscoalition.org/.

IMPORTANT!  School Handbook

We are kindly requesting that all families review our Parent Handbook prior to our first day of school.  This document will answer most of your questions that you may have.  If not, please feel free to reach out to our office during office hours, M-F, 8-3:30 pm. and we will be happy to assist.

School Supplies - Next Deadline is August 15th!

Student Supplies:

One of our traditions at MMCA is to bulk buy the core student school supplies on behalf of our families.  We do this for a few reasons:

  1. To save you the time, energy and hassle of going to several different stores to pick up all of the items on our published school supplies list.

  2. To save you SIGNIFICANT $ by bulk-buying these supplies on your behalf.

  3. Supplies are delivered right to your child’s classroom and will be waiting for them on the first day of school.

Buy early and save! Purchase supplies for $75 thru 8/15; and $85 after 8/15. School Supplies can be purchased on our website at this link: http://mmcharter.org/store

PTA Events

The PTA invites all families to their Popsicles in the Park tomorrow.  See the 1st flyer for all the details.  Below that is the PTA calendar of events for the 26/27 school year.  It includes a QR code so that you can become a PTA member.  Remember becoming a member doesn’t mean you have to be at every event or volunteer for all things PTA.  Your monetary contribution helps support the PTA and goes towards all the fun things PTA plans for the MMCA community, like Popsicles in the Park that is being held tomorrow!  Go Mustangs!

School Spirit Wear - 2nd Order Deadline August 17

Student Uniforms

Our school has a uniform policy. Uniform tops may be bought through the MMCA Store page or at locations such as Amazon, Old Navy, WalMart, Kohls, Target, etc.

Our student uniform ordering process is electronic and on the same MMCA Store page as the School Supplies. Click on the item(s) you’d like (t-shirt, moisture-wicking shirt, polo shirt or sweatshirt) and select sizes and then proceed to e-checkout.  Our uniform provider requires bulk orders.  Our next deadline will be 8/17, but realize they will not be ready for at least 3 weeks from this date.

School upgrades

We’ve been busy making some safety enhancements as well as SEL improvements on campus!

Help Us Build the Future—One LEGO Brick at a Time!

We’re hoping to pilot a new Computer Science & AI program using LEGO® Education kits to teach our middle school students coding, robotics, engineering, and problem-solving in a hands-on way!

If the pilot is a success, Mrs. Boothby would love to expand it into an after-school coding program so even more MMCA students can participate.

We would be incredibly grateful for any and all support in getting this project funded. Every donation—big or small—gets us closer!  Donate here:  Help fund “Coding the Future—One Brick at a Time”

Meet The Teachers

Kindergarten and new to MMCA 1st graders families, please read the flyer below.

First Day of School Logistics Drop-off  / Pick-up procedures

‘Normal’ morning drop-off is curbside based from 8:10a-8:30a (parents drive through, not leaving their cars, kids get out at the curb).  For the first day of school, especially for our new Kindergarten and 1st Grade students, I know there’s going to be a lot of parents wanting to walk their kids to their classrooms, the playground, etc.  That’s fine, but if you’re going to “hang out” with us before school this week, PLEASE PARK NEXT DOOR at Margaret Azevedo Park, as we have very limited parking available at our school site.  We have a paved walking path from the Park to our school site.  Same for Back to School Night next week - please utilize the parking available at Azevedo.  A graphic of our normal drop-off and pick-up procedures is here:
