  2. Before/Aftercare program and signups

Staffing Updates

With Cynthia Brown and Ray Baldonade retiring last year, we made a couple of staffing changes.  I am pleased to welcome Adrienne Garcia as our new Assistant Director and Jenefer Mikels as our new Office Manager!  With Adrienne transitioning to a full-time administrative role, I’m also pleased to welcome Samantha Chapman as our new Orange Room co-teacher!  We’re also excited to announce that Tarah Crow's role at MMCA will be expanded this year to include Librarian!

Our class rosters were posted on our front office windows today around 4:00 p.m.  Please do not take pictures and post on any social media.

Each summer, I receive several questions with regards to my strategies for setting a class roster.  My overall goal in developing any class roster is to try to establish a balanced classroom looking at these primary factors: 1) behavior, 2) academic ability, 3) gender and 4) grade level.  While I will take parent requests into consideration, there will be circumstances where I will not be able to honor all requests, particularly when doing so would lead to an unbalanced classroom.

We’re excited to see everyone on Thursday!

IMPORTANT!  School Handbook

We are kindly requesting that all families review our Parent Handbook prior to our first day of school.  This document will answer most of your questions that you may have.  If not, please feel free to reach out to our office during office hours, M-F, 8-3:30 pm. and we will be happy to assist.

From the PTA

Below is a calendar of events for the 26/27 school year.  Take a look and mark your calendars.  It’s going to be a fun year, but we can’t do it without your support.  There is a QR code where you can become a PTA member.  Remember becoming a member doesn’t mean you have to be at every event or volunteer for all things PTA.  Your monetary contribution helps support the PTA and goes towards all the great events the PTA sponsors throughout the year.  Go Mustangs!

School Upgrades

We showed some ‘safety’ stuff for our students in the last flyer, but we’ve also made some ‘fun’ adjustments too!  Checkout our new wallball court area:

Help Us Build the Future—One LEGO Brick at a Time!

We’re hoping to pilot a new Computer Science & AI program using LEGO® Education kits to teach our middle school students coding, robotics, engineering, and problem-solving in a hands-on way!

If the pilot is a success, Mrs. Boothby would love to expand it into an after-school coding program so even more MMCA students can participate.

We would be incredibly grateful for any and all support in getting this project funded. Every donation—big or small—gets us closer!  Donate here:  Help fund “Coding the Future—One Brick at a Time”

Meet The Teachers

Kindergarten and new to MMCA 1st graders families, please read the flyer below.

First Day of School Logistics Drop-off  / Pick-up procedures

‘Normal’ morning drop-off is curbside based from 8:10a-8:30a (parents drive through, not leaving their cars, kids get out at the curb).  For the first day of school, especially for our new Kindergarten and 1st Grade students, I know there will be a lot of parents wanting to walk their kids to their classrooms.  That’s fine, but if you’re going to “hang out” with us before school this week, PLEASE PARK NEXT DOOR at Margaret Azevedo Park, as we have very limited parking available at our school site.  We have a paved walking path from the Park to our school site.  Same for Back to School Night next week - please utilize the parking available at Azevedo.  A graphic of our normal drop-off and pick-up procedures is here:
