Over the next (9) weeks, we will be electronically sending several notes to keep you updated on the next school year.
8th GRADE PROMOTION
What a wonderful Promotion ceremony last night! Thank you to all of the teachers, staff, students and parent volunteers for making it happen! Each year we like to publish the speeches of our 8th Grade Promotion Student Speakers. They provide great insight, from a student’s perspective, of what their experience was like at our school. Our PTA and parent volunteers have given their all again this year and we are all incredibly grateful for such a strong group of volunteers to organize FUN community events and support our school ALL YEAR LONG!
A Message from the PTA:
“Together, the PTA and school community hosted: Harvest Festival, Bingo Night, Movie Night, Hot Cocoa with Santa, K-5 Family Dance, Middle School Dance, APEX Fun Run, Field Day and Staff Appreciation Week.. PHEW!
As a school we raised just over $40,000 which went to:
New projection systems for each classroom, additional smart boards for meeting spaces, field trip scholarships, class parties, field day supplies, classroom funds ($500 for each classroom), staff appreciation lunches and gifts, supplies for the events, upgraded PTA closet shelving and bins, snowie king for the last day of school, and a few back-end admin supplies.
Collectively we have volunteered over 600 hours of time (totals still being tallied).
And we are not stopping, next year we have a full calendar of events, and we can't do it without you! Please take a look at our events calendar and let us know if you're interested in chairing one of the events we have planned. You do not have to attend all of the PTA meetings, and some events may just require a small investment of time off campus to prep.

A Final Request from PTA Before the School Year Wraps Up!
As we close out another great year, we’d love to hear from you! Please take a moment to complete our quick survey—your feedback as parents and teachers helps us understand what worked well and where we can improve.
Just a friendly reminder: PTA is run entirely by volunteers, and the success of our events depends on the dedication of those who step up to help. If there was an event that didn’t quite meet expectations, we encourage you to join us next year and be part of making it even better!

OUTDOOR CLASSROOM GARDEN
Yellow Room students had a special visitor (Mystique the Dog) join them while they read and wrote in the Garden recently. This is just one of the many ways that our outdoor garden is utilized by our students throughout the year.
PAID GARDEN DOCENT OPPORTUNITY
In order to expand our program and improve continuity, the Garden Committee is looking to hire a paid, part time garden docent using some of our Big Day of Giving funds. The person hired would be working with students across
all of our classrooms. If you are interested, please contact Kristin Thomas at kthomas@mmcharter.org.
