Weekly COVID-19 Update
Cumulative Case count: (50)
We continue to have students test positive over the past week. In addition, there are cold and flu viruses going around the County as well, and we’ve had absences related to those as well. It does appear that Placer County has hit its’ ‘peak’ for COVID cases and they are coming back down. This chart is from Placer County Public Health:
While cases are coming down, we’re still at levels higher than anything from 2021 or 2020. For COVID testing locations, Placer County Public Health hosts a website that, with a couple clicks, basically gives access to every testing location within the county. The PCPH website with testing site information is HERE. Additionally, the federal government announced a +/- ‘free tests for all’ program, and the link to this program is HERE.
REMINDER: Updated CDPH guidance has reduced the isolation requirement for individuals that have tested positive for COVID-19 to five days IF symptoms have resolved and they test negative on day five. Our basic parent-student COVID protocols are here.
APEX Fun Run
We have started APEX this week, and I suspect you’ve seen emails from the classrooms about it and/or your kids have talked about it. Generally speaking, the APEX crew does daily character education, age appropriate lessons within each classroom, culminating in a Fun Run next Thursday. The APEX lesson themes this year is ‘AS ONE’. Funds raised from the APEX Fun Run will benefit our MMCA PTA, with proceeds going to things like waterbottle refilling stations. We will be looking for parent volunteers for the fun run next week (more details to come).
Re-Enrollment for 2022/2023
It’s time for our annual re-enrollment applications for our existing families. We do this so that we know how many students we can enroll from the lottery for the next school year. Existing students are automatically re-enrolled and are exempted from the lottery as long as the forms are submitted by the deadline. This year, we’re trying to simplify things for returning families and have made a Google Form for re-enrollment. Please click on this link HERE to complete re-enrollment applications for your child(ren). The deadline for re-enrollment to guarantee your child’s spot for the next school year is February 17th .
MMCA Children’s House Open Enrollment for the 2022-2023 school year starts NOW!
Preschool spots are for potty-trained children that will be 3.5 - 5 in mid-August. For our preschool, spots are filled on a first come, first serve basis.
Lost & Found in Office
Is your child missing a pair of prescription glasses? We have 3 pairs! We also have a drawer full of other items including jewelry, an ipod or mini iphone, gift cards, and much much more! Please contact Cynthia or Denise for more details.

Parents/Guardians of 8th graders, the 8th Grade Yearbook Dedication is a very special way to honor your child and their graduation. The Yearbook Committee asks that you submit a personal message of 100 words or less and one jpeg photo. Messages should include a closing that clearly states who is sending the message. Please include "8th grade dedication-" followed by your child's full name in the subject line of your email. Please submit your message and photo to mmcayb@gmail.com. For inspiration check out submissions in last year's yearbook.
