Congratulations to MMCA!

Maria Montessori Charter Academy was recognized again as a California Distinguished School! The award ceremony will be held in late May. MMCA is the only school in Placer County with CDS status in both 2023 and 2025! We are very proud of the efforts and hard work of our teachers, staff and students in making this happen!

Since 1985, the California Distinguished Schools Award remains one of the most important ways to celebrate exceptional schools, districts, teachers, and classified employees for their innovation, talent, and success in supporting students. The 2025 schools are recognized for closing the achievement gap and demonstrating exceptional student performance.

“This year’s California Distinguished Schools celebration provides us with an opportunity to recognize the hard work of our elementary educators and school staff who help our students discover passions and experiences that will propel them,” said State Superintendent Tony Thurmond.

Garden Update!

We have had two garden workdays this past month and the volunteers completed a lot of tasks! We cleaned and replanted the strawberry patch, filled all the garden boxes with new dirt, upgraded the irrigation lines, and pulled weeds. The garden looks great and we welcome you to come check it out!

Girls Volleyball Update

Our volleyball team had a “bye” day yesterday, so the MMCA girls volleyball players and family members watched a Jessup Men’s volleyball game on Tuesday evening. It was a great team bonding experience along with getting to see college-level playing!

Summer Camp 2025

We will be offering Summer Camp again this year for students in current grades Pre-K thru 6th Grade. Camp hours will be 9:00am - 1:00pm. Before and after care will be available from 7:30am - 9:00am and 1:00pm - 5:30pm.
