BIG thanks to all of our families and friends who donated to our School Garden!  We raised $6223!

All of the winners have been contacted directly to pick up their prizes.  The winners can also be found on on the Garden’s Facebook Page:  https://www.facebook.com/MMCAGarden

To celebrate BDOG and our garden, we are going to host our first ever Salsa-Making Event in the Garden on May 21st from 5:30-6:30pm (right before Open House!).

TEEN CERT/MOCK DISASTER

Our 7th and 8th grade students did a fantastic job today as part of the culmination of their Teen CERT training today by responding to our “Mock Disaster” (two  earthquakes spanning from the Auburn fault line to the San Joaquin fault line - yes, those are real fault lines!).

Big thanks to all of our family volunteers, community members, local first responder agencies and Sacramento Fire CERT for coming out to supervise and evaluate our Green Room students. We even had special guest volunteers today, MMCA Alumni Jason Frausto, Cadence Medeiros, Avery Thomas, and Braden Thomas.

And super big thanks to Mrs. Laura Crouch who serves as our outstanding Teen CERT Instructor all year long to our Green Room students.

The Mock Disaster is a special event here at MMCA that we are fortunate to be able to participate in each year.

SPRING BOOK FAIR

Our Spring Book Fair is coming soon!

May 21: 8-8:30 am, 2-3:30 pm

May 22, 8-8:30 am, 6- 7:30 pm

We are in need of just a few volunteers to help.  Sign up for an easy, short shift by emailing Mr. Baldonade at rbaldonade@mmcharter.org.

This might be your last chance to get in your volunteer hours for the year!

PTA ELECTIONS

If you would like to get more involved on campus - consider joining the PTA team!

Elections will be held Tuesday May 11th at 2:00pm in the Administration Building Conference Room.

The PTA has several positions to fill for the 25/26 school year, and we could use your help!

The current openings we are looking to fill are:

  • VP (ideally 2 people to split responsibilities) - these persons will assist with PTA budgeting, serve as liaison with the president to communicate with school staff and parents.  We need at least one person to fill this role or the PTA cannot operate as a complete board.

  • Event Chairs (multiple openings) - Next year we will be transitioning to event chairs. The Event Chair will be responsible for facilitating the ONE event they have signed up for, and will check in with the PTA Board for updates and resource needs. This is great for those who cannot attend all the meetings but would like to be involved in helping pull off one event with PTA. Events we are looking to host next year including and not limited to:

    • Bingo Night

    • Harvest Festival

    • Movie Night

    • Sip - n- shop holiday event

    • K-5 dance

    • Middle School Dance

    • Staff Appreciation Week

  • Volunteer Coordinator- this person should be willing to help create sign up forms and coordinate the global effort of soliciting volunteers (PTA uses Cheddar up for this and training is available).

  • Fundraising Coordinator- this person will be responsible for assisting with donation requests from businesses, tracking donations to log with the treasurer.

  • Dine Out Coordinator - This person will coordinate the dine out events for the year - Treasurer will help with necessary documents as required.

  • Class parent representative (One for each classroom) - This person would serve as a liaison between the PTA and their classroom, helping to share information from PTA meetings/ upcoming events with their class and teachers.

  • Graphics Designer- this person would use the PTA Canva acct to create flyers and other event related items as needed (can be split between Multiple people)

  • Web support- This person would help PTA update and maintain our Cheddar Up landing page and events. This is a very simple system that someone with experience in any similar volunteer sign up pages/ forms can learn!

  • Social Media - Post events in the MMCA parent group, help engage parents and share PTA information as necessary

  • Copy & Distribute monthly calendar of events to teacher boxes.

  • If you see a need not being filled and would like to volunteer, please come and present your idea!

As an FYI, PTA meetings will be moving to 2:00pm on Mondays for the 25/26 school year, with childcare provided in aftercare for those who need it.

Please feel free to reach out to ptammca@gmail.com with any questions, or if you are interested in joining us but are not able to make Tuesday's meeting.

Please reach out to mmcayb@gmail.com if you have any interest in helping with the yearbook next school year.  Training is available and it’s a lot of fun!

WATCH D.O.G.S.
