Good Afternoon MMCA Families,
Welcome to the first of our Thursday Flyers! Each week during the school year, as a school we will send a weekly flyer with information about upcoming events and happenings at our school. The flyers will be published on either Thursdays or Fridays.
Reminders:
Our 23/24 Parent Orientation Handbook is now LIVE (linked here). New parents in particular, please take a look at all of this packet, but in particular please look at our drop-off / pick-up procedures.
REMINDER: New Parent Information Night is TONIGHT, 8/17/23 @ 6:00p in our Multi-purpose Room, and our Back to School Night for all parents is @ 6:30p this Thursday within each of our classrooms. These events are intended as parents-based events - there is no supervised child care provided. If you need to bring your child(ren) in order for you to attend, that’s fine.

Thank you to our amazing PTA for providing our staff with a welcome back lunch on Wednesday! It was catered by the Rustic Mule and it was absolutely outstanding and very appreciated!
Looking for (1) PT Lunch Supervisor:
We’re looking for (1) PT paid person to help us with Lunch time Supervision. The ‘normal’ shifts are approximately 11:10a - 1:15p (about 10 hours/wk). If interested in applying, please contact Ray Baldonade at rbaldonade@mmcharter.org.
Upcoming Volunteer Opportunities:
Over the next several weeks, we are going to start recruiting for a variety of parent volunteer opportunities, including:
Crosswalk monitors for morning drop-off (8:15a-8:30a - we’ll offer DOUBLE volunteer hours for these spots)
Afterschool Club Leaders: We’ll offer after school clubs throughout the school year. Individual clubs usually last for one hour after school and go for six weeks. If you’re interested in leading a club, please contact Ray Baldonade at rbaldonade@mmcharter.org.
All School Garden Workday: Within the next month, we’re going to have a work day for our outdoor classroom that will include bark and DG pathway work - many hands make light work! If you’re interested in helping out with our garden, please contact Kristin Thomas at kthomas@mmcharter.org.
Art Docents: We’re going to be recruiting for Art Docents for each of our classrooms - if you are interested in being an Art Docent, please contact Art Docent Coordinator Julie Cohodes at jcohodes@mmcharter.org.
