Dear M.M.C.A families,

With about five weeks to go before school starts, I would like to take this opportunity to write each of you a quick summer update with the first of our Summer Flyers! We will be sending this Summer Flyer electronically via our Google Apps Email Distribution Group, posting it to our website, and posting it to our FACEBOOK page. If you did not receive this Flyer via email, please 1) check your Spam folder and 2) email us at mmca@mmcharter.org with SUBSCRIBE in the subject line so that we can make sure that you are on our distribution list.

First off, I’d like to take this opportunity to welcome all of our new families!

We will be sending 2-3 more Summer Flyers between now and the start of the school year. These Flyers will include information about “coming back to school”, our New Parent Information Night, Back to School Night, ordering hot lunches and school uniforms, and much more!

In the meantime, here are a couple items that we would like to update you about.

Summer Updates

MMCA Summer Office Hours: Tuesdays & Thursdays from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. (please note: The office will be closed the week of 7/25-7/29). The updated 2022-2023 school calendar is on the website HERE. Please note that we are continuing to use the Google Apps Calendar on our website for our current events calendar.

REMINDER: Prior year Yearbooks have arrived, and they may be picked up from the office during Summer Office Hours.

Summer Camp Update:

Summer Camp has been doing awesome! If you have any questions about Summer Camp, including last minute enrollment, please contact Mrs. Cohodes at jcohodes@mmcharter.org. We are “basing” Summer Camp out of our D2 classroom this year. You can reach this classroom by phone by dialing (916) 630-1510 ext. 223.

School Store Update:

We’ve updated the links on our School Store page to make both school supply orders and school uniform orders electronic. http://www.mmcharter.org/store. Specifically:

Student Supplies:

New parents: One of our traditions at MMCA has been to bulk buy the core student school supplies on behalf of our families. We’ve done this for two reasons:

1. To save you the time, energy and hassle of going to several different stores to pick up all of the items on our published school supplies list; and

2. To save you SIGNIFICANT $ by bulk-buying these supplies on your behalf.

3. Supplies are delivered right to your child’s classroom and will be waiting for them on the first day of school.

The 2022-2023 school supplies list information is now posted on our website. Depending on grade level, our ACTUAL cost for these supplies is approximately $85-$115 per student. We are going to continue the promotion we did last year related to school supplies:

Buy early and save! Purchase supplies for only $60 now thru 8/6; $70 thru 8/20; and $85 8/21 and after. School Supplies can be purchased on our website at this link: http://mmcharter.org/store

Student Uniforms

Our student uniform ordering process is electronic as well on the ‘store’ page. Click on the item(s) you’d like (between t-shirt, moisture wicking shirt, polo shirt or sweatshirt) and select sizes and then proceed to e-checkout. Our uniform provider requires bulk orders. Our first deadline will be 7/22 (to hopefully make sure they’re available by the start of the school year).

Breakfast / Hot Lunch Updates:

We’ll send out a separate email at the end of the month specific to how to order breakfast and hot lunches to allow you to get registered in the system and make sure all of your paperwork is done.
