Good Afternoon MMCA Families,

We are ONE WEEK AWAY from our first day of school!

Here is a list of our upcoming summer e-blasts by topic:

Thursday morning, August 10th: Introduction to our online ordering system for breakfast and hot lunch

Thursday afternoon, August 10th: K-8th Grade Before and After Care paperwork for the 23-24 school year

Monday morning, August 14th: Parent Orientation Handbook with 1st Day of School information and information about New Parent Information Night / Back to School Night

Additionally, I have a couple quick ‘heads up’ articles for you below:

Children’s House (preschool) “Meet your teachers day”

On Tuesday, 8/15/23, we are going to have an opportunity for our preschool students to come visit their classroom and meet their teachers. For this, we will divide the students into a ‘morning group’ and an ‘afternoon’ group. The Preschool Teachers will be sending an email by Friday to let families know whether their child is in the ‘morning’ or ‘afternoon’ groups, and the specific times/details for each.

Kindergarten (and new 1st grade students) “Meet your teachers day”

On Tuesday, 8/15/23, from 10:00a to 11:00a, we are going to have a “Meet your teachers day” for all of our Kindergarten (and new 1st grade) students.

Class Rosters update

Our class rosters will be posted on our front office windows Monday, 8/14/23 after 3:00 p.m. Each summer, I receive several questions with regards to my strategies for setting a class roster. My overall goal in developing any class roster is to try to establish a balanced classroom looking at these primary factors: 1) behavior, 2) academic ability, 3) gender and 4) grade level. While I will take parent requests into consideration, there will be circumstances where I will not be able to honor all requests, particularly when doing so would lead to an unbalanced classroom.

Thanks everyone,

Brent
