August 26 MMCA Families Update

Good Afternoon MMCA Families,

Three updates today: hot lunch, laptop checkouts and email system.

Hot Lunch Update

Lunch orders for the week of 9/8 through 9/11 are due tomorrow 8/27 by 11:59pm. Reminder: your status from last year will roll over for 30 days. In that time you will need to fill out a new application for free or reduced price meals, unless your child is directly certified through the county. You will receive a letter from MMCA if your child has been direct-certified.

If you are new to our school. We serve lunches from Revolution Foods. Orders are collected and paid for on the Boonli website ( https://mmca.boonli.com ). To create an account click "create an account" and our school password is "MMCA1." Prices are $3.85 for paid lunches, $.40 for reduced-price and $0.00 for free.

You will be able to pick up lunches a week at a time. The delivery schedule from Revolution Foods is Wednesdays delivery for consumption Wednesday through the following Tuesday. If you would like to pick up your meals for the entire week, please email hotlunch@mmcharter.org. Heating instructions will be provided. Pick up will be Wednesdays between 11:00 and 11:30.

We currently have meals for Monday 8/31and Tuesday 9/1. If you placed orders, you may pick up those meals on Friday 8/28 between 11:00 and 11:30.

Laptop Checkout Update

Currently we have (11) students that have requested laptops that we haven't provided yet, after checking out over 100 laptops to students and staff the past week. Our I.T. team will be reimaging more school laptops this weekend, and we anticipate that we'll have around 25 more laptops available for checkout by Tuesday morning. We apologize for this delay - we even tried to go buy new chromebooks as a fix yesterday, and there's literally none available in the region.

Email System Update

While our I.T. team was working on the security protocols of our student email accounts yesterday, they accidentally blocked every mmcharter.org email accounts' incoming/outgoing emails for about a four hour window yesterday. If you tried to send us a message between 10a-2p yesterday, we didn't get it. Related: For security purposes, our student email accounts are limited to emailing people with "mmcharter.org," "edgenuity.com" or "schoolstepsinc.com" extensions only (e.g., our teachers and students). We want these email accounts to be used for school purposes only, and especially with 2nd and 3rd graders now having email accounts for the first time, we want to limit third party email access to our students.
